Matrix Jiu Jitsu – FAQ

  • Can I pause my membership?
A Membership can only be paused for a valid reason, e.g., a medical certificate or for professional reasons. The membership duration will automatically be extended by the paused months.
  • How can I cancel my contract?
Long-term contracts with monthly payments do not end automatically and can’t be cancelled before the end of the term, without extraordinary reasons (e.g. relocation > 30km). After the initial contract term, the contract will automatically renew on a month-to-month basis until cancelled. Cancellations must be made in writing or by email with confirmation to info@matrix-bjj.de at least 15 days prior to the next month to be valid.
Long-term contracts paid in advance and processed with VAT forms automatically end at the end of the contract term. The contract cannot be canceled or refunded.

  • Who are the Pro classes for?

  • Is there class on german holidays?
There is no official training on public holidays in Germany. We usually offer an open mat on these days. For updates, please check our WhatsApp group. If you’re not already in the group, contact us at: info@matrix-bjj.de or +49 176 23625569 so we can add you.
  • What is an „open mat“?
Open Mat means free training. You can practice techniques, work on your fitness, or simply spar.
  • Can unattended, firmly booked classes be made up?
Spots are specifically reserved for you or your child, ensuring that everyone has a guaranteed spot. Missed classes cannot be made up or transferred to other sessions, as they are reserved for other members. This system helps us maintain the quality of training, preventing overcrowding and ensuring adequate instructor availability.
  • Can I change my child’s booked training days?
Changes to the booked training days are only possible if there are available spots in the respective classes. The system of fixed training days was introduced for the kids’ classes to prevent overcrowding and to ensure that there are always enough instructors on the mat. This is the only way to guarantee a smooth course flow and maintain the quality of instruction in each class. Please feel free to send us a message at info@matrix-bjj.de , and we will check if a change is possible.
  • Are Parents allowed during kids classes?
Parents are only allowed to be present during the trial class, the mini-classes, and, if needed, a brief settling-in period. We have established the rule that parents are not allowed to be present during Kids1 and Kids2-classes, as we’ve found that this allows children to focus better on their training without constant interruptions. Additionally, we aim to build the children’s self-confidence.
  • Are children allowed during adult classes?
Unsupervised children are not permitted in the academy, as we want to prevent any accidents with training equipment. We also aim to avoid constant interruptions during class.
  • When can my child switch to the next higher group?
This is an important topic and must always be discussed with the head coach. Usually, we will inform you when we believe your child is readyfor a class upgrade. It´s very important that each child trains in the appropriate group to ensure optimal progress.
